Original Drybar Franchisee Validates Pure Glow as Next Big Beauty Franchise Opportunity
Shannon Williams has always had a knack for spotting trends well ahead of the curve. There is no greater example of this talent than when she became the first franchisee for Drybar in 2011. Drybar had no intentions of franchising but Shannon convinced her friend, and Drybar co-founder, Michael Landau to allow her to open the first Drybar outside of Los Angeles.
Fast-forward to the present day, Shannon is one of the largest franchise operators in the Drybar system with seven shops in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. She’s succeeded by focusing on the simple business basics of taking care of her team who, in return, take care of the thousands of loyal Drybar clients who frequent her shops.
Over the years, Shannon has had many brands pitch her as “the next Drybar” but, thanks to her talent of spotting trends, she’s passed on them all….until now. In March, Shannon committed to developing and opening her first Pure Glow within the greater Dallas-Fort Worth market.
“I can go on for days about the model and what it solves for most pain points in the beauty service industry but the clincher was Lauren,” said Williams. “She has an amazing tanning formulation, designed a beautiful experience, and recruited world-class franchise executives who are all aligned with the mission of Pure Glow. Having witnessed the enormous growth at Drybar and the importance of an amazing founder it made all the sense to me.”
Dallas was very high on the list of cities for Pure Glow to target and they understand how monumental this partnership is with Williams.
“From the moment that I met Shannon, I knew there was an important connection that was felt amongst us and the rest of the team,” said Lauren Rampello Becotte, Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Pure Glow. “We’ve set out to recruit world-class franchise partners so that they can indeed partner in our success from the beginning. Pulling in Shannon’s experience with Drybar is a dream-type scenario for us.”
“While Pure Glow is a new emerging franchise, the model makes sense and the team that Lauren has recruited has provided me with 100% confidence that this will succeed in Dallas. I’ve had a long working relationship with Sean Bock, CDO of Pure Glow, and Lynn Griffin, VP of Operations for Pure Glow, and their experience complements perfectly with Lauren’s vision. I am also excited to partner with the amazing franchise peers that are currently committing to the brand. They are really attracting the best and the brightest operators within the franchise beauty space”, said Williams.
Williams expects to have her first studio opened by the end of this year. The first quarter of 2024 has been a busy time for Pure Glow as it announced the signing of four new franchise partners. Three of the four Pure Glow franchise partners started within the Drybar franchise system and recognize the opportunity that Pure Glow can present in the beauty franchise space. In addition to those commitments, Pure Glow is opening its newly designed flagship location in the Seaport District of Boston.
